Fire TV Stick 4K tune-up

My own Fire TV Stick 4K, measured on the device via adb on Oct 19, 2026.

Result: more free memory, less clutter

  • Free RAM: 137 MB → 258 MB after debloat
  • Free storage: 1.8 GB → 1.9 GB
  • Removed Amazon Photos, the game hub and the shopping app
  • UI animations set to 0.5x; ad tracking turned off

Honest note: cold app launch times (Plex, YouTube) did not change. The difference was within measurement noise.

Custom touches

  • Custom startup intro: a Tesla Roadster animation, then it opens Plex
  • Top-right TSLA / SpaceX stock-ticker overlay
  • Ambient dashboard with clock, weather and tickers, which runs when launched

  • Menu display pages running in Fully Kiosk on the dining-room TVs
  • HD video, self-hosted on Cloudflare R2
  • A QR code on screen
  • Wito cutscenes
  • Fire Stick and Google TV devices cleaned up to run the displays
